Landgoed Springtij Texel is a secret gem near De Koog. Just outside the cozy village center, but wonderfully quiet. In this nice place you have the time of your life – together. Because all the ingredients are there: an attractive holiday home, nature around you and an island at your feet. On our estate, the children can play casually with holiday friends. You yourself enjoy coffee in the sun, or you finally get around to that good book.
Can you break away from this haven of peace? Then set off to explore Texel. The North Sea is calling you from afar, so a walk on the beach or a few hours by the sea are undoubtedly on the agenda. But there is more to do on our island. Mudflat hiking, an excursion in De Slufter, cuddling lambs or discovering stories in Texel museums. And what do you think of all the fun activities, festivals and workshops? One thing is certain: the island will definitely surprise you.
De Koog is a bustling village behind the dunes. Here, hospitality is in the DNA of every villager. We like to share our beautiful living environment with guests from 'the other side'. The North Sea, the rugged dunes and the pine forest; You never get bored of it. In the nature around De Koog you can recharge your batteries. Wander on quiet paths or enjoy the golden sunset by the sea. In the Dorpsstraat you step into a completely different world. Discover nice boutiques, home furnishing stores and many restaurants.
The rolling landscape around De Hoge Berg breathes history. This highest point of Texel was created in the ice age, by the accumulation of clay and sand. In the VOC era, drinking water was cleared here for long journeys to 'the East'. In the 16th century, William of Orange built Fort De Schans, a star-shaped structure that you can still visit. Today, the Hoge Berg is the domain of Texel sheep, which graze on meadows between the garden walls. Grab your bike, put on your walking shoes and discover this beautiful area.
Do you want a wide view over forest, sea and polder land? You can go up the Texel lighthouse, but also climb the wooden stairs of the Fonteinsnol viewpoint. You have to have a bit of sea legs, because in strong winds you can feel the tower gently swaying. Fun for the children: at the foot of the Fonteinsnol is a play forest. Collecting branches, building wooden huts, playing tag between trees. An hour of romping in nature results in red cheeks and happy children.
You can enjoy a delicious meal in De Koog on Texel. In the Dorpsstraat you will find restaurants for every taste and budget. On our list of favorites are the Taveerne, Oudeland, Sjans and Passie. The chefs have a love for pure flavours, with a Texel twist. Not only are the dishes to write home about, you are also very cozy! So reserve a spot and have a nice long dinner.
